Portfolio

Here are a few of the projects and clients Hannah is currently working on. She has worked with scores of music organisations including The King’s Singers, London Symphony Orchestra, John Rutter, London Sinfonietta and Kings Place.

Alternative Classical

Founder & Director of Alternative Classical, the only classical music site with a majority audience of under 35s. Alternative Classical develops audiences for classical music, dismantles some of the hierarchies within the industry, and encourages experimentation and innovation within the sector.

I want to say how much I admire what you’re doing with Alternative Classical. It is a consistently really tough world to be working in, and I think you have and continue to build something really brilliant. Very many congrats, and please do keep going!”
— Composer

John Rutter & the Cambridge Singers

I manage the marketing and PR for composer and conductor John Rutter, including his social media, website, newsletter and streaming channels.

What a difference Hannah’s involvement has made! Increased followers, more engagement, pushing into a younger, previously neglected demographic – her input has brought fresh ideas and amazing results. We’re so pleased we added her to our team, and would absolutely recommend her services to anyone looking to connect digitally with their audience.
— Joanna Holland, John Rutter & Collegium Records

London Youth Choirs

I’m the marketing and communications consultant for London Youth Choirs, a family of 10 choirs for young people from school year 3 to age 23.

Guest lecturer & speaker

I’m a guest lecturer on innovation within the classical music industry for the MA Classical Music Business course at Middlesex University, and have delivered workshops at the Royal College of Music on marketing, branding and content creation.

Musical bookshop

In January 2022 I opened an online musical bookshop, stocked with novels on a classical music theme. Buying from Bookshop.org supports both Alternative Classical and local, independent bookshops. There are books about pianists, opera singers, music teachers, choirs, musical books for children, and more!

Humans of Classical Music

Classical music can be surprising, exhilarating, dramatic, quirky, funny, captivating and comforting, sometimes all at the same time. Welcome to Humans of Classical Music: musicians, actors, comedians and podcasters give you a personal recommendation every Thursday from February 2021 to February 2022.

Concert Roulette

Concert Roulette was my lockdown project. It’s a new way of discovering classical music that’s been played in over 110 countries. Give it a whirl and see what you find!

“This has to be the most fun since lockdown began” ~ Culture Whisper

“Without initiatives like this, the future of classical music would be dismal.” ~ Philip Herbert, composer

Hannah has made a big difference to this small organisation. She is organised, creative and strategic. We have particularly appreciated her commercial awareness and are very happy to recommend her as a sharp, knowledgeable arts marketing specialist.
— Deborah Coughlin, Artistic Director at The Old Church
Hannah was an enormous support managing press for Classical Remix’s tour of Synth Remix. She had wonderful creative ideas about how to reach audiences, and her network of classical and alternative classical music organisations was invaluable – she knows everyone!
— Benjamin Tassie, Classical Remix
